Fine Art/ Portraiture. BFA, 1974: Otis Art Institute. MA, 1992: Pacific Oaks. Color, composition and concept is the focus of the Fine Art work. Commercial work includes: portraits, events, publications. I am interested in statements that offer at times humor, surprise, themes of isolation and social commentary. Documenting the urban/suburban landscape, series include: feet, night scenes and dead orchids, the latter leading to a digital project called "Orchid Requiem" that won the 2003 Silver Prize for Art and Science of Color (Kyoto, Japan). After 10 years as a licensed psychotherapist working with the mentally ill using art-making as a healing tool, in 2001 I returned to Fine Art pursuits, entering juried competitions, winning some awards and exhibiting in 20 shows from summer of 2002 to 2003.
