Cathy Greenblat is Professor Emerita of Sociology at Rutgers University where she served for 35 years as a member of the Departments of Sociology and Women’s Studies.  The author of 14 books and more than 100 articles, she traveled and lectured around the world. Since 2002 she has been engaged in a cross-cultural photographic project on aging, dementia, and end of life care. Photographs from her 2004 book, Alive with Alzheimer’s (U Chicago Press) and from her 6 year followup project on Alzheimer’s care in 5 countries (Love, Loss and Laughter – forthcoming) have been exhibited in the USA, Europe, India, and Japan. Her project on palliative care has also been exhibited in the USA and Europe. She offers illustrated lectures on these subjects.
 
Cathy is currently an Artist in Residence at the University Hospital Network (CHU) of Nice, France and an Honorary Research Fellow at the International Observatory on End of Life Care, Lancaster University, UK. She lives most of the year in Nice.
