Masks and Alterations: Images by Christine Burgoyne
September 4 - 26, 2003.

The CDA Gallery, formerly known as the King County Gallery, is pleased to present the photographic work of Seattle artist Christine Burgoyne. Masks and Alterations is an exploration of female identity in physical form through large-scale black and white photographs. These images symbolically speak to a culture filled with the obsession to alter our bodies, whether naturally through exercise or through more drastic measures like plastic surgery.

The series of work in this exhibition will eventually be produced in a book about female identity.

A reception for the artist will be held on:
September 4, 2003 - 6:00 - 8:30 P.M (during the Downtown Artwalk).
The public is encouraged to attend and meet the artist.

The CDA Gallery
506 Second Avenue, Suite 200,
Smith Tower Building (located within the Cultural Development Authority offices)
Seattle, WA (closed government holidays)
Gallery hours, Mon -Fri, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, the gallery is open and free to the public.
